Academic Institutions such as Universities, Trade Schools, Certificate Issuers etc. Recipients/holders of certificates/credentials such as students and graduates, as well as verifying parties such as employers or government agencies.

Our goal is to turn TrustED into the industry standard for certificate accreditation. A go to portal and a global decentralized database containing every single certificate or academic credential one ever receives. When an employee attends a job interview, we don’t want them having to worry about carrying their paper diploma with them, and when an employer interviews a job candidate we want them to be able to instantly view and verify their academic credentials and achievements.

The platform leverages blockchain technology to solve several issues that are currently related with the current system. In addition, the platform utilizes a cryptocurrency as the main utility function on the platform, whilst also enabling participants of the platform such as node operators to be rewarded for their work which in turn keeps the platform running and decentralized.

Failure of mass adoption. Although TrustED has been successful so far in onboarding academic institutions to pilot the technology, it is evident that not all institutions would be willing to join the network. Despite this, the TrustED platform will enable holders of certificates/credentials the ability to upload the credentials themselves, utilizing TrustED as a personal cloud storage specifically for academic achievements and certificates, hence minimizing the risk mentioned above.

TrustED has strategically onboarded advisers and core management from academic institutions to specifically assist with the adoption of TrustED amongst academic institutions. In addition, a large amount of our budget will be dedicated to marketing and ensuring we put our primary focus into acquiring users onto the platform. Evidently, not all academic institutions or certificate issuers will wish to join the network. This is market risk will be mitigated as trustED will enable holders of certificates and academic credentials the ability to upload their own personal credentials onto the platform. Leveraging blockchain technology, TrustED will act as a lifetime permanent cloud storage service for their academic credentials. In addition, they will have the ability to request their academic institutions to verify the credentials even if they aren’t apart of the network.

There are several startups, both blockchain and non blockchain related attempting to digitalize academic credentials or employment history. That being said, TrustED specifically focuses on only academic credentials and achievements, whilst also enabling not only academic institutions to upload onto the platform, but also students and holders of their credentials.

Yes. In a world whereby almost everything we see or do is digitalized, why are our certificates still issued on paper? Smartphones have now become the new “wallet”, whereby everyone carries their smartphone with them 24/7, having the ability to pay, navigate, search and retrieve information instantly. So why not add in an application which has your academic credentials stored on there and viewable in an instant? When you go for a job interview, your employer will be benefited by having the ability to simply send through a request to view your academic credentials from his smartphone and receive a response instantly. No more having to contact the university to confirm your accreditation, and no more doubt on what grades the employer received whilst studying. In addition, academic institutions will no longer have to worry about attending to verification requests from employers (saving time and costs) and will also have the benefit of knowing exactly what migrating students have studied. Lastly, no one wants to carry around a paper diploma anymore. No one wishes to carry around anything paper copy. 30 years from the time you graduate, one may find themselves changing career paths or changing employment. Keeping a paper diploma/certificate intact for 30 years can be difficult, but having it stored permanently on a digital portal makes it a breeze. With blockchain in its infant stages, and with firm belief that blockchain tech will be highly influential and adopted in the future brings great confidence in the future success of TrustED.

TrustED utilized innovative blockchain technology to ensure the legitimacy of academic credentials. The current system today is slowly digitalizing academic credentials, minimizing the issue of removing inconvenient paper copies, however, the systems are being run on highly centralized databases prone to system downtime, data manipulation and costs. TrustED is unique in the fact it utilizes a decentralized ledger in blockchain technology to complete the task. In addition, TrustED is unique from its blockchain competitors, as it gives students and holders of certificates the ability to upload their achievements and credentials onto the platform to stimulate growth and use case amongst the ecosystem.

TrustED has successfully signed on board several academic institutions to trial or utilize the platform in 2019. Amongst these institutions over 100,000 students will have their academic credentials entered into the ecosystem giving TrustED great traction moving forward. TrustED has also secured seed funding and private funding from venture capitalists to build the technology demonstrating confidence and faith within the project from investors.
